the st. louis cardinals complete the comeback of the year, if not in all of the history of baseball, by winning the world series against the texans rangers. this team strikes some crazy resemblances to my boys last year. underdog, not projected to win, national league (because they're sooo inferior to the american league, right?).
but they did it! and i'm so happy for them. they really did deserve to win it all. 11 in '11! it was a crazy series. it was close. emotional. back and forth. historic. unforgettable. one of the best series the game has ever seen.
my stepdad is a cardinals fan, so the first thing i did last night when they won game 6 was text him. he of course responded with some sarcastic remark, and then with an "one more game to go". i responded with a "they can do it". and they did it.
i talked to my mom tonight after the game and she was also happy for them. but we also are calling something tonight. we are calling that the san francisco giants not only return to the world series in 2012, but that they win it. mark my words, we're calling it tonight.
congratulations to the cards, they deserved it. it'll be interesting to see where the great albert pujols ends up next year. he will always be a card in my mind, but life isn't always that cut and dry. wherever he ends up will be a lucky team. here's hoping for albert! god knows the g men need him...
