we remember

today is a hard day for us americans. a day that will forever be etched in our memories. a day full of loss. a day full of pain. but a day of unity.

on this day ten years ago, our lives were forever changed. we were shown that we aren't invincible. we were crippled in the most unimaginable way.

while these things were shown, more importantly we proved what it really means to be an american. complete strangers rushed to help those they had never met before. thousands of firemen and women, policemen and women, and ems teams sacrificed their lives for that of a stranger's.

while i was not personally affected by the events ten years ago, i still am haunted by the images, memories, and stories of those whose lives will never be the same.

my heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to the remaining families and friends of those who were lost. may god bless them and hold them; just as he always has and always will.

america changed that day. but we got back up. we fought back and proved that while you can shake us, you can't break us. i'm proud to be an american. i love this country.
